Well, this has been a long few days. Mason came home from school early on Wednesday running a fever, having chills and no appetite. I knew the flu was hitting pretty hard in our area so I scheduled him an appointment with Dr. Conner first thing Thursday morning. Then, Mark ended up having to go out of town to work with another office because most of their staff was sick with the flu. He flew out early Thursday morning and won't be back until Saturday. Sure enough, Dr. Conner confirmed that Mason indeed has the flu and gave us all Tamiflu to try to keep us from coming down with the bug. Poor little Mason has had a rough couple of days. I thought he was doing better yesterday afternoon but he did not want dinner and went to bed early. I figured he just needed his rest but he woke up sick to his stomach at about 11:00pm last night. I felt so bad for him. I hate to be sick that way and just wanted to be sick for him! He is MUCH better today so I'm hoping that Tamiflu has kicked in and shortening the duration and severity of the flu. I couldn't take him being sick for much longer, especially with Mark out of town. I don't know how single moms do it!

I am so thankful to have the best banker in the world! Paul was sweet enough to pick up some groceries for me and bring them to me last night so I wouldn't have to get the boys out. If that were not enough, he "delivered" my groceries in a suit. Let's just say I was not wearing my dress with pearls! Now how many of you can say you have a banker like that? Maybe I should ask how many bankers have a customer that would actually call you and ask you to bring them their groceries...I bet you other bankers are just dying to have a customer like me.
No really, Paul and Kim are wonderful friends. I don't know what our family would do without them. We really look out for each other and I just love it. Thanks Paul for coming to the rescue. It may not have seemed like a big deal to you, but it meant the world to a mom with a sick kiddo and a traveling husband.
